Also see note below issued on March 8, 2015. All previously issued ballots/proxies are invalid. Also note that as biographies for the candidates become available, they will be posted below the name.
NAMES OF WATER BOARD CANDIDATES FOR 2015
- Robert Akerson
- Bill Colson
- Wife – Tam
- Parents and in-laws both original members of Spring Canyon Estates in the 60s.
- Bill & Tam built their home here in 1979. Bill owned own business in Rapid from 1978 – 2000 and is now CEO of Children’s Home Society of SD.
- Served on Water Company board from 1980 – 2000, most of the time as board president.
- Dik Dahlquist
- Wife – Geri
- Dik and Geri Dahlquist happily moved the short distance to Clarkson Road in March of 2014 after living most of their thirty years of married life in Rapid City. They have two grown children including Karin, who is presently sharing their home along with her German shorthair, Gunny.
- Geri retired from nursing after about 30 years and now enjoys volunteer work, spending time with family and working on and around the home, especially outdoors. She grew up in Rapid City and has some extended family in the area as well.
- Dik was a farm kid growing up in the north central part of the state, so he is at home out here, using his tractor to grade the road, move slash, or other necessary tasks. The couple own GEDKO Electric where Dik specializes in commercial electrical construction work in Rapid City and surrounding area. Our son Erik is a Journeyman Electrician and works with Dik. We employ about a dozen electricians. The name GEDKO comes from Geri, Erik, Dik and Karin… We’ve been in business for just over ten years and Dik will be celebrating 40 years as an electrician this fall.

- Husband – Mark
- Elke Kuegle is an educator at Stevens high school for the Rapid City school district. She received her B.S. at Black Hills State University and her Masters from Concordia College. For the last 9 years she has taught German and Biology at the high school level.
- Ever since she has starting her teaching career, she was active in professional organizations. She was the president of the American Association of Teachers of German for two consecutive terms and is currently the treasurer and secretary. In addition, she has also been an active board member for the Apolda Sister City organization for the last 9 years.
- She was born in Germany but spent over half her life in the U.S. She moved to South Dakota in 2000, to Rapid City in 2005, and lived in the Spring Canyon Water District since 2007. She is very passionate about the environment and loves to hike, cook and socialize.

- Wife – Tara
- Jon and Tara are both dentists and have their own practice in Rapid, Schaack Family Dentistry at Pine Peaks.
- Jon was born and raised in Pierre. Tara is daughter to Bill & Tam Colson and was raised in this neighborhood
- Jon and Tara purchased home in Spring Canyon Estates, formerly owned by now deceased Jack & Marion Elston, in 2010.

Dear Water Company member,
Due to an increased interest in members volunteering to serve on the Water Company board, we are resending a ballot for use in the upcoming election. Every member of the Water Company has been personally contacted and the result is the nine names on the ballot. The two methods to utilize this ballot are as follows:
One, vote for up to seven candidates, sign the ballot form and send it to:

Or, two, vote for up to seven candidates, sign the ballot, and bring it to the annual meeting on March 31, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. (Whispering Pines Volunteer Fire Dept.) and submit it to an acting board member.
